The meeting was called to order by President Gary Hall at 11:1 0 a.m.at Roma's Italian Restaurant in Halifax, Virginia. Lunch was ordered from the menu. Secretary Jeff Myers led the Pledge of Allegiance and the Pledge to the SAR. Lunch was ordered from the menu.

Minutes for the July 16, 2022 meeting, the August 20, 2022 meeting, and the  September 24, 2022 meeting were read by Secretary Jeff Myers, and were approved by the chapter.

Treasurer Boyd Archer submitted the Treasurer's Report.

President Gary Hall gave an update on the Crossing of the Dan from that committee's meeting. Period music will provided during this event.

President Hall reported that Ted Daniels' application had been approved, and that Mark Estes is very positive about joining our chapter.

A Flag Certificate was presented to the Halifax County and South Boston Museum on September 12, 2022 by Dwight Spangler.

There are opportunities for Stark Award points at Valor Farm in Altavista. They are working on the first and third Saturdays of each month on one-day projects. Also, AVOCA in Altavista has a cemetery with Revolutionary War, War of 1812,and Civil War gravestones that need cleaning.

The NASSAR Annual Meeting will be held at Berry Hill Plantation in 2023

Boyd Archer reported that the web site is getting hits, and has links to the NC State Society page and the National SAR website. The National Society has a new website with new features. Members can update contact information, membership, etc. on the new site.

Compatriot Dwight Spangler spoke about how to properly clean headstones, and the different ways to mark grave stones.

The chapter needs to find a place for our December meeting.

Our next meeting will be on October 22, 2022 at Roma's Italian Restaurant at 11:00 a.m..

President Gary Hall gave closing remarks. The SAR Recessional was led by Secretary Jeff Myers. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned by President Gary Hall at 12:00 p.m.
